Gerunds หรือ Verbal Nouns

มีคำกริยา 2 ประเภทที่ลงท้ายด้วย ing ประเภทแรกเรียกว่า present participle คือคำที่ใช้กับกริยาช่วยเพื่อทำให้ประโยคนั้นๆเป็นรูป continuous tense เช่น

Tense

เรื่อง Tense ก็คือเรื่องของเวลา หมายความว่าเวลาที่เราจะพูดอะไรสักอย่างจะมีเวลาเข้ามาเกี่ยวข้องเสมอ เพราะตัวเวลานี้แหละที่ทำให้โครงสร้างประโยคเปลี่ยนไป เช่น

I am eating rice. หมายความว่ากำลังกินข้าวอยู่

I ate rice. หมายความว่า ฉันได้กินแล้วข้าวเรียบร้อย

SIMPLE SENTENCE

A simple sentence, also called an independent clause, contains a subject and a verb, and it expresses a complete thought. In the following simple sentences, subjects are in yellow, and verbs are in green.  

A. Some students like to study in the mornings. B. Juan and Arturo play football every afternoon. C. Alicia goes to the library and studies every day.
